Régina Aeschlimann

Régina Aeschlimann is an independent funeral celebrant and works under the name Un dernier Signe. After some twenty years in teaching, in 2024 she completed the funeral celebrant training with Sandra Widmer Joly and obtained the Ceremoniae certificate. She is a member of the association Célébrys, a Swiss network of independent celebrants. Preparation involves a meeting of two to four hours, at the family's home or at the home of the deceased, during which she gathers memories, relationships and significant moments. She then writes the texts and the order of the ceremony, which are submitted to the loved ones for approval, helps with the choice of music and readings and suggests symbolic gestures. On the day, she officiates and ensures the link between those taking part. The ceremonies, without liturgy, last from thirty to sixty minutes and can be held in a funeral centre, a chapel, a cemetery or a private place.
