Markus Flückiger

Markus Flückiger works as a freelance theologian and coach in Zürich. He designs wedding ceremonies, marriage renewals, funerals, farewell ceremonies and welcome ceremonies. After basic commercial training at the Berner Zeitung he studied theology in Aarau and Stuttgart and graduated with a Master in Intercultural Studies. For seven years he worked as a theologian in church development cooperation in the Congo, then as head of human resources and from 2003 to 2020 as managing director of OM Schweiz. He places his work under the terms appreciative, surprising and moving. He likes ceremonies that contain unexpected elements alongside traditional parts, and accompanies people regardless of whether they have no denomination or belong to one. He speaks German, French and English as well as some Italian and Kikongo.
