Emmanuelle Ryser

Emmanuelle Ryser has been a funeral celebrant since 2025. Her path starts from writing: after a licence degree in arts (Lettres), she first worked as a journalist, then turned to life stories, which led her to funeral ceremonies. She has published a novel and has for twenty-five years been part of the APA, the association for autobiography, where she nourishes her reflection on intimate writing. Her studies also include art history and a specialisation in English-language dramaturgy, pursued in South Africa. Her activity brings together three fields: writing, life stories and funeral ceremonies. She writes for the people who approach her and with them, in order to keep a trace. She is based in Lausanne.
