Daniel Kallen

Daniel Kallen has been conducting independent ceremonies for birth, love and farewell for over twenty years. His services comprise independent baptisms and welcome ceremonies, weddings and independent wedding ceremonies, as well as farewell ceremonies and interments. He studied theology in Bern and Freiburg and completed his studies with the state examination. He then worked for a long time as a pastoral carer, parish pastor and director of studies. By his own account he has led more than 2000 ceremonies throughout Switzerland. Kallen is bound to no denomination and is open to all world views. He prepares each ceremony individually. He describes his style as relaxed and at the same time profound, with room for humour. He speaks Bernese dialect. At farewell ceremonies he relies on personal memories and appreciation rather than on psalms and organ music.
